Box office hit, PTC Group’s Christmas Party in dual celebrations of its 40th anniversary!
The record-breaking attendance of over 1,100 last December 12th at the Manila Hotel Tent already reflects PTC’s leadership in the maritime industry.
And “PTC@40: Bravo” sets the bar higher with its employees, principals and partners, the diplomatic corps and media --- plus special guests so awed by the unique celebrations of a four-decade journey of moving the world.
CEO Gerardo Borromeo opened the night with PTC’s milestones for 2019, with flashes of “Imagineering” to concretize the vision. These included local and international awards earned by the various companies of the Group, ground-breaking initiatives and partnerships which guarantees PTC to the ahead of the pack for 40 years more and beyond.
The global Borromeo: “Our future will continue to be defined by our ability to responsibly and sustainably conduct ourselves in the course of our daily work. This shared blueprint serves as a reminder that in everything we do, we must consider our impact on people and on our planet.”
Behind the glitter are the hardworking men and women, honoured for Loyalty and recognized for Competence. But the highest accolade was reserved for two very special couple who authored the PTC story: Ambassador Carlos and Mrs. Isabelita Salinas.
Ambassador Salinas revisited the roots, “When we founded PTC in 1979, it was not the best time to set up a new business. The world was in turmoil. But, we saw an opportunity for our country. We took the risk and strived to place the Philippines and the Filipino in the global shipping industry.”
Fun and fancy were interwoven by performing abstracts of classic movie musicals.
- First Place, “Fame,” by the Support Services
- Second Place: “Grease,” by ACM and Finlay
- Third Place: “High School Musical,” by the Crewing Division
- (More than the Trophy earned is the bragging right on undiscovered talents)
The Ryan Cayabyab Singers swept the audience with their voice and dance medley of Michael Jackson doing “Saturday Night Live” and “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Mr. Cayabyab scored the pieces, gave the accompaniment, expected nothing less than the best coming from a National Artist for Music.
Management appreciation with the work force rolled the carpet with prizes and prizes, cash gifts of as much as P100,000 --- and a brand new 2020 Toyota Vios XLE.
What a night, what a company!
