OSM-AD Foundation Recognized

The Crew Connect Global Awards 2019 recognized the CSR arm of OSM Maritime Group for initiatives empowering communities.
OSM Maritime has been committed to contribute to the upliftment of communities evident by its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives running for more than a decade already. These days, the welfare initiative has been infused as culture through the OSM-AD Foundation established in 2015.
This year, the Crew Connect Global Awards recognizes the OSM Maritime Group in the Welfare and Corporate Social Responsibility Award category. This recognizes the CSR initiatives delivered by a ship-manning company in making a positive impact to communities.
True to its commitment “it’s all about people”, the CSR arm of OSM is making a positive impact to indigent communities as it further strengthens the direction of its advocacy to help improve lives.
The OSM-AD Foundation runs three programs:
- Education and Scholarship Program (ESP)
The Foundation promotes access to quality education by indigent youth in the Philippines. Through the ESP, it offers college scholarship to youth from poor families and deserving beneficiaries of OSM seafarers and land-based staff. The program also facilitates annual leadership and learning summit to further provide learning opportunities.
- Initiatives for Social Development (ISD)
OSM contributes to the improvement of basic education in disadvantaged communities. It enhances the capability of schools to deliver quality education through improvement of school facilities and seminars for teachers. It also encourages children to pursue education despite hindrances by providing school supplies and implementing educational workshops.
- Disaster Response Program (DRP)
More so, OSM is vigilant to respond to indigent communities affected by calamities within the country through its Disaster Response Program (DRP). The program directs the Foundation to facilitate the delivery of relief assistance to families in need to survive during the times of recovery.
Prior to each project implementation, the OSM-AD Foundation conducts thorough research to study the needs of the target school or community to support the planned intervention on specific issues. This supports the intention of the Foundation to organize projects based on needs.
The Foundation hopes that the programs would help the children and youth cut the cycle of poverty and eventually make notable contributions to their local communities.
