On Covid 19 Watch: MAGSAYSAY ON COSTA CRUISES CREW
Magsaysay Maritime (MMC) has released policy and implementation with Costa Cruises regarding the protection of crew health and safety.
Costa Cruises screens the temperature of all guests, visitors, and crew members and checks for any flu-like symptoms. Now, crew members are occupying guest cabins, one cabin per crew, catered with food and amenities.
Magsaysay is in contact with Costa Cruises for the repatriation of Filipino crew members and the treatment of those requiring immediate hospital care. Repatriations will be scheduled for those tested negative of Covid 19.
Those who tested positive will be brought to a hospital in Italy for further treatment. Crew members in close contact with those tested positive will be booked in a hotel in Italy for quarantine, observation and medical support.
As Costa Cruises continues to closely coordinate with the Italian Government, so does Magsaysay updates families of affected crew on current developments.
On top, Magsaysay coordinates with local government agencies directly involved in the crisis management like POEA, OWWA, DOLE, DOH, among others.
However, Magsaysay strictly keeps secret and confidential the identities of crew and their families, whether tested positive or persons under investigation (PUIs) or those under monitoring (PUMs).
